Try Swedish snus

This site is all about Swedish snus, which is a form of tobacco that is both spitless and smokeless. Snus is used orally and is availably in two main categories, loose and portion.

This is not an investigative report about what happens in "snus industry". This site offers no real revelation. Instead, it is a site about snus. Perhaps it was because of my working method that set out to find out what I was curious about. What I am curious about others ought to be too. I have at least tried to highlight a number of snus issues of the snus culture, history, sociology and geography. And this is therefore a snus site. During the writing, I have been under strong influence of predominantly-General (loose), but sometimes also Ettan (portion) and Probe (loose). Along the way, I have also tried to snus my way through the Swedish snus range and even a couple of cans of snus Bornholm as I discovered it during the holiday there. Several of the new snus companies have also sent samples to me that I have had occasion to consider. Thank you for that.

Snus wasn’t created out of nothing. Take a look at this site to find out how snus and tobacco came to Sweden. Snus has had both up and down periods in Sweden. After a long down period snus made a strong comeback in the late 1960´s.

Hopefully, I have in this book avoided making snus into something other than what it is. Snus is a stimulant in everyday life. Snus is snus albeit in gold boxes, which already the Swedish author Fröding held for true. Yet, works on this site made me realize that there are more aspects to snus than I originally thought. Not least is perhaps snus history and tradition, something that is more deeply preserved in a kind of popular nationalism than you might think. At least among the over one million Swedish snusers. Not only is there a lot of snusers in Sweden, snus can also be found in every part of Sweden’s society. Even the King of Sweden is known to have used snus. Take a look if you don’t believe me. You can also take a look at this section about Swedish snus brands.

We are not ashamed about snus. We like our snus. We don’t worship it, but we use it and enjoy it. And we won’t not create a smoke screen around us. Snus consumer and his or her snus habits is in itself open and obvious. Who has heard of a secret snus users? And who require snus free premises? We are one million snus users who show respect both to ourselves and our surroundings. For all of us this site is made. Many questions have been answered during this work. However, there remains one: Why do we so often get hiccup from portion snus but not from the loose?
